Mac Freezes After Sleep, Restart, And Shutdown (Sierra)



UPDATE: MY COMPUTER NOW WORKS. I rebooted in “safe mode” and reverted to whatever original operating system my Mac shipped with (for me it was Mountain Lion). Then I upgraded through the necessary operating systems until I reached Sierra. It’s running perfectly. I haven’t upgraded to High Sierra yet but I don’t anticipate any issues.

  1. i have the same problem and i do the same thing you show here. i've just been searching all day for a real solution since classes are starting soon and i really don't want to deal with completely shutting down/starting my macbook every time i use it or put it away. so so annoying

  2. I don't have this issue.

    I have a MacBook Pro 2015.

    Sleep works perfectly. It also hasn't been turned off for over a year and a half.

    I'm just curious as to whether there is any benefits of a full shutdown vs sleep.

    I think you may just have a dodgy MacBook.

    Mine works perfectly and always has tough wood.
